How to Stay Motivated? Check Out These 6 Tips to Keep You Motivated!
Every action requires some sort of motivation. Motivation can come from anywhere, be it a blog, like the one you’re reading right now, or from your near and dear ones, your idol as well as from within yourself.
I surely cannot decide and control your surroundings, but can definitely provide you with some excellent tips to keep yourself motivated all the time. So dive into this list of thought-provoking tips that you can follow to keep yourself motivated:
1. Set a Goal.
You must have an aim to be motivated towards it. Define your goal to yourself. Write it on a piece of paper and stick it at a place where you can come across it regularly. Once you have a goal set in your mind, the planning and the journey to achieve it becomes easier. You can imagine how you would feel and what you would do, once you achieve it. For example, if you want to lose weight and become fit, you can imagine which dresses you would wear, how would you look, and what fitness activities will help you achieve it. A perfect imagination will act as an excellent motivation as every time you would start slacking, that imagination of achieving your goal will boost you back into your schedule.
2. Filter Your Thoughts.
A human mind has a million thoughts in a day. It is important to filter these thoughts as they can either distract you or motivate you towards your goal. Sorting your thoughts gives you a clear mind and helps you focus on your goal. You are able to sort your priorities and give importance to steps that would ultimately help you achieve your dream. It permits you to control the negative thoughts and keep a positive mindset at majority of times. You can filter your thoughts while meditating and get positive vibes around you for the complete day!
3. Divide Your Aim Into Smaller and Achievable Goals.
Do you dream big? Great! But remember small drops make up a sea. You will require conquering little milestones first so as to achieve the goal. Write down your goal on a piece of paper. Now, divide it into very small and achievable goals. For instance, if you wish to become fit, make small goals such as jumping 10 times a day. As you achieve these small goals, you’d feel proud and will have a sense of accomplishment. This will make you further motivated in accepting and achieving larger challenges. This surely acts as a great boost for motivating oneself.
4. Introspect, Write and Reflect Upon Your Daily Life.
You can keep a diary and reflect upon your daily actions. Keep a note of your progress towards your goal. Everyday updates will help you to keep a track of your progress and learning. At the end of every week, you can get happy looking at what you have achieved! Introspection gives you a room for improvement and changing yourself. This is an important precaution from letting yourself skip. At the same time it acts as a motivation, especially in the times when you feel that you are down and out.
5. Get Yourself an Accountability Partner such as a Mentor or a Coach.
At times you may get distracted from your goal. Having someone to keep a check on you is really important to stay focused as well as to stay motivated. Do get yourself an accountability partner so that when you start slacking on your goal’s milestones there’d be someone who’d push you, motivate you, and bring you back on your track.
6. Choose Your Peers and Surrounding Carefully!
When you are surrounded by people who care for you and your goal and are supportive and understanding, you have higher chances of achieving it. Avoid being around people who distract you from your goal and do not fall prey to unnecessary peer pressure. When it comes to choosing friends, choose them wisely. If you make friends and stay around individuals who are in the same boat as yours, i.e., striving to achieve a goal similar to yours, you are very likely to achieve it.
One must keep a positive attitude towards life and should take every difficulty as a challenge. If possible, turn your negative thoughts and feelings into a motivation to work harder. The fear of failure can actually act as a motivator! Get yourself a positive circle of peers, and do not forget to consider the above-mentioned tips. Hopefully you will find these efficient and helpful!
